Today, Emily sent a mass email out and three of my friends said that they were adding him to their prayer list. God is working!
Yay!

Update from Jacob's Mom
We spent Friday evening in the ER under the direction of our neurologist. He wanted to give him an iv of Dilantin. The seizures should have stopped immediately, but since nothing about Jacob is "typical", it took over 2 hours for them to stop. So we went home, with the understanding that if he had any more, we would head back into the ER. That morning, he had 4 in a row (about 2 min apart) so we call the neurologist, because we would like to treat him at home, if possible, he is so much more comfortable at home. So, all weekend we have adjusted his meds and he has slept now for over 24 hours, with brief spurts of awakeness, to eat and stretch. Unfortunately, he doesn't understand why he just can't get up and walk around, so he does and he is like a person who has had a few too many drinks. Needless to say, we have to constantly monitor him so he doesn't harm himself.
Thankfully, he is in a good mood and is eating well, as long as I puree his food.
Hopefully, all of this will level out and the seizures will stop ( we are still experiencing "clusters" of seizures...an hour with nothing and then 3 or 4 in a row)
I will keep you posted and thank you for your continued prayers!

Prayer Request
I got this email from Elizabeth - Jacob's Mom.
This is an update
This is an update
Please add Jacob to your prayer list again, if you ever took him off.
He is having seizures about every 5 min. or so. Last week they were happening every 1-2 min and we, under the direction of our neurologist, are adjusting his meds to try to stop them. We have 3 options to try at this point. We are on option #2 and have not seen much success yet.
Jacob's seizures are called "drop" seizures. Which means at anytime he just drops down, whether standing or sitting. It often looks as if someone punched him in the stomach and he falls to the ground. Unfortunately we have no warning that this will happen, so we have no way to protect him. Consequently, he has banged his face up pretty good, with 2 black eyes, a chipped tooth, and various scrapes, cuts and bruises over his face. We have a helmet to protect his head but it doesn't protect his face.
I will keep you all posted about how it is going.
I ask that you pray that the last option will work (since 1 or 2 haven't worked) because after this our choices are more serious.
I also ask that you pray that his little angels are around him to keep him safe from all of his falls.
Thanks,
Elizabeth and Trey

We love you, Jacob
Recently, I found out that our little buddy Jacob is having a hard time with life. He is having seizures about once every five minutes, which is an improvement. He was having them once every minute. These are not only painful to watch him go through, but we know that they are also painful and miserable for Jacob-causing him physical and emotional pain. My heart breaks knowing that such an innocent child has to go through such intense confusion and pain.
When talking to his Mom, I realized that in reality I was helpless. I realized that the only thing that would help was prayer. I also knew that my prayers weren't enough. God always listens, but where two or more come together in His name, there is power.
It is my prayer that somehow this online prayer journal could be of some hope, some encouragement, and some light into the Homan family's life.
We love you, Jacob.
